TAKE TO THE OARS
$29.00
Hand-crafted from start to finish, this stamped coin features the phrase “When the wind fails, take to the oars,” with a small oar at the bottom of the phrase.
We drew inspiration for this phrase from the Latin proverb, DESTITUTUS VENTIS, REMOS ADHIBE, commonly translated as “If the wind will not serve, take to the oars.” While we usually prefer to use the Latin versions of mottos, we felt that the more direct English translation of this one resonated more deeply with the self-motivated, perseverance, do-it-yourself theme we were aiming for with our 2021 collection.
We want this phrase to encourage folks to put action and effort into changes they want in the world, especially since 2020 really took the wind out of our sails. We all have goals we want to achieve in 2021, and forming the habit of putting in the work when our breeze of external motivation wanes will be the force that gets us there in the end.

Ready to take on the swell!
Really impressed with the overall quality, especially the brass chain (far better than expected). The coin did have a couple manufacturing smudges on the front upon arrival but I just wiped it off - no big deal. Really cool packaging too! Ready to take on the swell! Thanks again.

Awesome necklace
Great quality, excellent customer service, and reasonable price for a nice piece of jewelry. Plus there were lots of extra goodies in the packaging when the necklace arrived. I love it!
