One of our double sided wax seal pendants paired with a classic sterling silver Maritime anchor. Wax seal pendant features the Spanish words MI AMOR (“My Love”) on one side and a harp, which is a symbol for love, on the other side.
The word “amor,” along with its translations in other Romance languages (“amour” in French and “amore” in Italian) stems from the Latin verb “amare,” which means “to love.” While Romance languages do tend to sound very romantic and beautiful, they are called Romance languages because they all trace their origins back to Latin, the language spoken by the Western Roman Empire. Given our series of Latin phrase coin pendants, we enjoyed the chance to keep the theme going in a subtle way with “Mi amor.”
The music produced by a harp sounds beautiful and ethereal, almost otherworldly. They have been used often to write love songs or accompany poetry, and in Celtic culture the harp is viewed as the bridge of love, connecting heaven and earth. Many other cultures recognize the harp as a symbol of love, and we wanted to pair this timeless instrument with the “amor” it represents. We chose to pair the wax seal with an anchor to provide a reminder that you have things in your life that prevent you from going adrift in the sea of life and help keep you grounded.
